DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Site Engineer (Roads) will assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project. The Site Engineer will participate in review and approval of all submittals by the contractors and involves in the quality control and quality assurance. Will lead the work inspectors to ensure that all construction activities have been perform as per the contract and specifications.
Under the general supervision, performs routine inspection monitoring tasks to confirm if proper construction supervision is being performed by others. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Document non-conformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, mechanical, or electrical.
Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities for assigned area.
 
Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. 
Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site specific safety procedures and industry standards. 
Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff. 
Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work. 
Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions. 
Develops discipline construction schedules and monitors progress. 
Provides schedule and progress appraisal report to the Resident Engineer.
Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. 
Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality. 
Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report. 
Initiates and maintains records, back charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required. 
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.   
Skills
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years experience in general inspection on all construction tasks such as soils, concrete, mechanical or electrical related to roads infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.
Familiar with applicable codes, standards and specifications. Preferred candidate with Gulf experience.
A qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specific activity, discipline or team of moderate size and complexity.
Provides specialist services in support of project requirements.
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
Registration with MME (Qatar) is mandatory to function as an Engineer in Qatar.
Must be very good in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
